The centre of the town is approximately 300 metres away and can be reached by turning right at the bottom of the downward slope from the station and left on reaching the main road.
Settle has been a market town in the limestone dales since 1249, it has a pleasant range of shops, tea rooms and pubs in the town centre and market day is Tuesday.Buildings of note include the Shambles, Town Hall and the Folly.The town provides the starting point for some very interesting walks including 3 caves in close proximity.An excellent view of the town and surrounding area can seen from Castleberg Rock above the town.
