Things to See and do in the Area

>Four miles away from Dent station is Dent village - located within beautiful Dentdale. Dent still retains a feel of the past with its cobbled streets and colour-washed stone cottages. During the 18th and 19th Centuries Dent became a major hand knitting centre producing gloves and hose. The 'terrible' knitters (terribly fast and furious) would sit on balconies overhanging the streets, knitting and talking.

>Adam Sedgwick the father of geology was born in Dent in 1785.

>There are a numbers of interesting shops, a photographic studio within the village and Dent crafts centre and Holme Open Dales Farm just outside. The Sun Inn and George and Dragon both serve food and locally brewed Dent Ale.
